| Portable Document Format, or PDF as it is commonly known, is a technology developed by Adobe Systems. It allows print documents, such as this report, to be compressed into portable electronic files directly from the original documents. The files can then be viewed using Adobe Acrobat Reader™, available free on the Adobe web site. Freeware means that the software can be used free of charge and that no registration is necessary.
Why would anyone want to give software away for free? Well why not? In these days when a lot of people try to figure out how to make the most money out of the Internet, we think that it's nice to keep up some of the old original spirit of the net. We are ourselves always glad when we find a program on the Internet that is freeware, because that means that we don't have to decide whether we really need this program so bad that we should go through the hassle of registering it.
